More and more, eyewitness testimony is shown to be highly unreliable in court cases. In fact, “eyewitness misidentification” has been called “the greatest contributing factor to wrongful convictions” that have been overturned due to DNA testing results. In a Distractify video posted earlier today, a handful of couples sit down with a sketch artist to describe their significant other. Despite the fact that they see these people every day, they have a difficult time recreating the picture in their heads into a drawing. The results are pretty much what you’d expect — some are fairly accurate, but most just look like a caricature.
Which, when you think about it, is pretty good considering you normally have to pay someone $20 at Disney World to draw one for you.
