This post will be a nice little round-up of the new pictures and posters going around the web today. First up, John Cusack as Edgar Allan Poe in The Raven (source). I kid you not, this is the actual plot:
Based on an original script by Hannah Shakespeare and Ben Livingston, The Raven is set in the last five days of Poe’s life, when a serial killer is running around Baltimore using Poe’s stories as the backdrops for his killings. Poe and a young detective have a ticking clock to outsmart the killer before he strikes again.

Next up, the first poster (source) for Jon Favreau’s Cowboys and Aliens.
1873. Arizona Territory. A stranger (Daniel Craig) with no memory of his past stumbles into the desert town of Absolution. The only hint to his history is a mysterious shackle that encircles one wrist. What he discovers is that the people of Absolution don’t welcome strangers, and nobody makes a move on its streets unless ordered to do so by the iron-fisted Colonel Dolarhyde (Harrison Ford). It’s a town that lives in fear.
But Absolution is about to experience fear it can scarcely comprehend as the desolate city is attacked by marauders from the sky. Screaming down with breathtaking velocity and blinding lights to abduct the helpless one by one, these monsters challenge everything the residents have ever known.
Now, the stranger they rejected is their only hope for salvation. As this gunslinger slowly starts to remember who he is and where he’s been, he realizes he holds a secret that could give the town a fighting chance against the alien force.
If this wasn’t Jon Favreau I’d say it sounds incredibly lame. Want to get a project optioned in Hollywood these days? Just take a plot everyone knows and then add “and then aliens show up.” (See also: “Alien Rock Band.“)
And finally, here’s the teaser poster for Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. It’ll probably be cool if you want to see the director of Nine do National Treasure with boats and eyeliner. Walk my wank, Jack Sparrow.
I want more like this!
