Sacha Baron Cohen is having a pretty great Thursday, as the guy who is bringing Ali G back into our lives with Ali G: Rezurection on FXX has locked up some pretty significant movie deals today. For starters, Sony Pictures has picked up the rights to make Cohen’s Grimsby, which is the story of a British spy that has to deal with his dipshit soccer hooligan brother (played by Cohen), after Paramount Pictures passed on the film. That little nugget is significant because it’s Paramount that made Cohen’s day even better by renewing its partnership with his Four By Two Films company, as Paramount will get first look at any of Cohen’s projects for the next three years, as well as a two-film guarantee.
Ever the suave and tactful gentleman, Cohen’s response to the new deal was as delightful as we could have ever hoped for.
“Any studio that puts out a movie where Leonardo DiCaprio snorts cocaine from a hooker’s anus is a place I’m happy to call home.”
Here it is in French: “N’importe quel studio ne met un film où Leonardo di Caprio renifle de la cocaïne de l’anus d’une prostituée est un endroit que je suis heureux d’appeler à la maison,” said Baron Cohen today while vacationing with his mistress in Villenueve, Southern France. (Via Deadline)
Cohen is, of course, referring to one of the many hilariously absurd scenes of overindulgence and excess in The Wolf of Wall Street (that you can watch somewhere, maybe here, but I’m not positive because I definitely didn’t post that NSFW video to YouTube). In fact, I’m willing to bet that “A-hole scumbag penny stock con artist and hooker with an anus full of cocaine” will be a huge Halloween costume favorite for college guys and gals this year.
