There’s been a lot of controversy surrounding the ending of “Mass Effect 3,” if by “controversy” you mean “whining.” And now some fan has decided to…wait for it…drag the federal government into it.
Yes, a BioWare forum user with the chick magnet handle of “El_Spiko” has filed complaints with the FTC and Better Business Bureau for “false advertising.” His argument, as far as we can tell, is this: “Like, BioWare totally promised me this bitchin’ ending to this lengthy, galaxy spanning franchise and they, like, totally didn’t deliver.”
“After reading through the list of promises about the ending of the game they made in their advertising campaign and PR interviews, it was clear that the product we got did not live up to any of those claims,” El_Spiko says. “This is not somethign [sic] I was happy to do, but after the terrible ending that was in no way the product that had been advertised to me and the lack of any kind of response from Bioware/EA to address this, I felt it was one of my only recourses.”
El_Spiko is calling for other forum users to file the same complaint, because dragging a major corporation through an expensive, drawn-out process is how you make sure people keep making video games. The government, for its part, welcomes the new addition to the extensive database of whiny self-centered trolls.

I hate people.
That’s so quotable. It should be on their packaging.

If This works can I sue Hasbro for forcing Micheal Bay to Put the twins in Transformers 2?
Honestly, I want to sue him for making me see John Turturro get pissed on by a robot. He showed us something that not even the Japanese are willing to make porn out of. Thanks, Mike. Thanks a f***ing bunch.
Honestly, I’m kinda happy he did this. If it was up to you guys EA would keep shoveling out the sh*t and you’d keep eating it up.
Us guys? Your worldview might be a bit blinkered, gamer.
EA’s the publisher, BioWare’s the developer. I have my problems with EA and their output (“Syndicate” was half baked and “Kingdoms of Amalur” had to make up for its bland story with sheer freaking dungeon volume), but let’s put the blame or praise where it’s due.
“because dragging a major corporation through an expensive, drawn-out process is how you make sure people keep making video games”
Yes, because, as we all know, video games are a niche product with a barely-existent consumer base that are constantly on the edge of entirely evaporating. Filing an obviously frivolous complaint with the FTC will certainly convince EA to go out of business.
No, but it might convince them to pursue consumer bases who aren’t, you know, whiny and entitled.
Non-whiney gamers? You have quite an imagination. You should be writing video games.
He has no claim. A an experienced bird law expert, by completing all 3 video games El Spiko is a NEEEERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRDDDDDDDD!!!!! Also, per regulation 60-2, “Just like with movie theaters, if you walk out before 30 minutes you get your money back, but if you play 3 titles back to back and then you decide you don’t like it then fuck you.” EL Spiko should be thrown in internet jail and have his photo released to 4chan and reddit for awesome photochops of dicks going in, on and around his mouth and any other surface of his stupid face.
Okay, seriously though, if you want them to stop putting out garbage like this, then quit buying it. Plain and simple.
