There’s been a ton of news from various sources lately about updates, changes or tweaks to Mattel’s various collector lines. Here’s what we’ve scoured together for the DC Universe Classics and Masters of the Universe Classics lines.
First up, according to Toy News International the Chemo collect and connect figure from Wave 9 will have two types. I’ll just let Mattel explain:
A lot of fans have asked about the two types of Chemos showing up at retails. Simply put, we made a running change half way thought production to add a bubble piece inside of his chest to create a cool liquid effect. (we actually tried real liquid but that was not working out!)
You can see the “bubble piece” there next to the figure. I gotta say, this does make the figure look much cooler than the plain old translucent job they were going for originally, but it does suck that now you’ve got to keep an eye out for which version of the build a figure piece you’re getting. I don’t think they did it on purpose at all, it’s just one of those annoying things.
In MOTUC news, He-Man.org showed off some pictures of the Teela variant Green Goddess figure that will be available on Mattel’s collector site Mattycollector.com soon. If you’re Facebook friends with Mattel, you can get this news right away.
He-Man.org also got their hands on one the reissue Skeletor–the original figure sold out in about 27 seconds–and offered up this video review and comparison between the two figures even though the figure itself doesn’t come out till December. Lucky bastards. Check out a grown man fondling Skeletor here (that’s just jealousy talking, folks).
