The official blog of DC comics has announced they’re starting a new series of original graphic novels featuring Batman and Superman “with their first years and earliest moments retold . . . on a new earth with an all-new continuity.” Superman: Earth One will be written by J. Michael Straczynski and illustrated by Shane Davis. Batman: Earth One will be written by Geoff Johns and illustrated by Gary Frank.
I’m impressed they were wise enough to reboot without trying to shoehorn it into existing story lines, and they’re not trying to force it into a monthly release format. Giving the artists the time they need to write an original story? What kind of hippie commune crap is this? Frank Miller* would be ashamed of you whores.

I like how Batman looks kinda dumpy with that costume. All they need now is to make the Penguin more like Burgess Meredith, and we will have a wiener in our hands.
Gary Frank draws Clark Kent as Christopher Reeve, which is cool.
I just hope he doesn’t draw Batman as Michael Keaton.
Yeah, just kinda wish that doing a modern reboot of any series wouldn’t require the new character designs look like they’ve been dipped in chrome. Obviously, someone’s been boning Burne Hogarth books.

They forgot to add “for the fiftieth fucking time.” Though give credit to DC. They REBOOT when a generation or so has passed. Marvel treats everything in Spider-Man’s near-50-year history like it actually happened to mid-20ish Peter Parker.
I’m so sick of Superman…nothing funny there, just am really, really sick of the Superman story.
