David Prowse played (but didn’t ultimately voice) Darth Vader in the first three Star Wars films. Oddly enough, he still hasn’t been paid his residuals from Return of the Jedi because the film “hasn’t turned a profit yet.” *spit take*
His lines were dubbed over with James Earl Joness’s's’s kickass voice, thankfully. Despite standing about six and a half feet tall and being a bodybuilder, Prowse had a voice reminiscent of Rick Moranis in Spaceballs but with a posh English accent as well. This Vader doesn’t intimidate me. I want to offer him Earl Gray and ask him to pronounce words like bath and dance and have him read Jane Austin novels to me. Oh, it would be ever so nice.
