CHRISTMAS TREE ROCKETRY

What’s the best way to dispose of a Christmas tree?  Shoot that bastard into space.  But, if you can’t get it to reach escape velocity, do the next best thing: shoot it really high then let it land on some trees and start a forest fire.  Would that be ironic, or just illegal?
