Kirsten Dunst wore a very anime outfit and danced around Tokyo’s Akihabara district singing “Turning Japanese” by the Vapors. The music video, called “Akihabara Majokko Princess”, was directed by McG (Charlie’s Angels, Terminator Salvation) as part of Takashi Murakami’s “Pop Life” exhibit, displayed at London’s Tate Gallery last month. This was in a museum? *adjusts fedora and whip* It belongs on Youtube!
The video below is NSFW, due to a few shots of naked anime cartoons. Which were completely unnecessary, but ensure that this video keeps getting pulled from every site that has it. Way to go, McG. Brilliant as always. I can see why Bill Murray headbutted you.
(Video above is NSFW.)
If that video gets pulled (expect it), here’s some bootleg set video of Kirsten Dunst dancing around:

This video went nowhere. Beastie Boys did a better job in Japan.
Also, Murakami’s “Lonesome Cowboy” is cooler than this. I dare you to Google it(NSFW btw).
This is bullshit!
Can you post screencaps of the naked anime shots?
What is the point of this, exactly?
Do the Japanese have a fetish for fucked up teeth?
The video should be labeled NSFYE (Not Safe For Your Eyes) due to copious shots of Kirsten Dunst.
“This video went nowhere.” Well said, Klinik (the fact that it’s Kirsten Dunst is neither here nor there). Oh, and way to throw up a lot of sordid stereotypes and then do snow-angels in your own vomit…
Kirsten Dunst, McG, and a bunch of otaku?
It’s like a nightmare.
McG has taken anime cosplay from me.
FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
im sorry guys but i think kirsten looks pretty hot here
Oh come on! Everyone knows “Turning Japanese” is about masturbation….
Hot? Yes. But I’m getting sick and tired of McG shitting on things I like: Filmmaking, Japan, tentacle porn, collared shirts.
Yeah, after the glimpse of her ass and gartered thigh @ 1:24, she’s just gone up a notch in my estimation. She’s now at Notch 1.*
*that line never gets old for me.
Snaggletooth in anime chic? My penis is confused.
The most important thing I think we can take away from this video is, wow, sparkly pink shoes can be super cute!
I get what the video is about.
In the U.S., the song was believed to euphemistically refer to the face a male makes during the act of masturbation. In a VH1 True Spin special the band denied this. Fenton explained: “Turning Japanese is all the clichés about angst and youth and turning into something you didn’t expect to.”
