Ah, Stan Lee. Is there nothing you can slap your name on and get a bunch of money for? I keep expecting to see “Stan Lee’s Strawberry Shortcake” or “Stan Lee’s hardcore porn starring Jenna Jameson.” (Well, I’d watch that one, if only to see her yelling out “Excelsior!”)
Anyway, Lee’s new anime is called “Heroman,” which might show that Lee’s finally run out of adjectives. It’s about a boy named Joey Jones who finds a giant American-flag colored robot and uses him to fight aliens or whatever those generically weird-looking anime bad guys are.
Oh, and this is apparently set in America, although you can’t tell from the trailer…but then it’s hard to understand much of anything from the trailer apart from “things explode.” Admittedly, the animation looks amazing, but that’s surely because it’s from anime studio BONES, which did Full Metal Alchemist. It’ll be airing in Japan in April, but there’s no word on whether it’ll ever air in the US.
But, if Lee’s wallet has anything to say about, of course it will.
