3D Enhancements Push Back 'Green Hornet', Does It Really Matter?

With the Seth Rogen-scripted/Michel Gondry-directed Green Hornet film already rumored a disaster, it doesn’t help much that now its release date is being pushed back. It also doesn’t help much that Sony Pictures is backpedaling, claiming that it’s only delaying Hornet because they want to add *finger quotes* “3D enhancements” to the film.

Via deadline.com:

Sony Pictures Entertainment Vice-Chair and marketing/distribution kingpin Jeff Blake is denying [those pesky rumors-Ed.]. He says, if anything, Sony isn’t backing away from the film…”We’re going to finish Green Hornet in 3D and take 9 months to do it right.”

With December 22nd as the original release date, the “9 months to do it right” that Vice-Chair Blake talks about, sets Green Hornet back to Martin Luther King Weekend, which is January 14, 2011. Sony did this in order to pay tribute to black history Paul Blart: Mall Cop. Wait, the f-ck?!?

He [Jeff Blake-Ed.] says the reason that MLK weekend was chosen is because the studio released Paul Blart: Mall Cop to a big number and now that date is lucky for everyone.

Oh Sony, you’re like the ugly girl in the stereotypical ratty pigtails and overalls. So much potential, so many latent opportunities…if only Freddie Prince Jr. could wake you the f-ck up.
