CORRECTION: The mask is fan art. Details here.
Legendary Pictures is bringing a reboot of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to screens in 2011. Last April, Peter Laird (co-creator of the original comic)
Actors would wear turtle suits and CG faces would be added in post production to give them more facial expressiveness. While in the turtle suits, a rouge rogue blogger will wander onto set and hit them with a mop handle, yelling, “I know you’re filled with candy. Gimme the candy.”
Now LatinoReview has received a picture which may be the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle mask for the new movie, although any masks worn by the actors are probably going to be used more for lighting reference for doing post-production CG work than for the final scenes. I’m putting the pic after the jump, since it could be considered a spoiler (if real). Also so I could start the post with a picture of Raphael punching Hitler in the mouth, because hell yes.

It could be an elaborate prank, but it really does look like the turtles from the original comic (inset pic above). Then again, it could also be someone going to great lengths to cosplay Turtle Rape Shoe. CowabungAH-AH-AH . . . AH!

Is that mask not turtley enough for you?
*holds up slice of pizza with pic in background*
Yeah…I can see it…
It’d be great if they made a movie like the original comics… Darker than the old movies and cartoons that were targeted toward kids.
You do know that that isn’t the original comic, eh?
Yes.
Your post suggests that the mask looks like the original comic. It doesn’t.

A rouge blogger? One who writes about makeup and shit?
Otto – “rouge” as in “going rouge”.
Nechronox – Yeah, I’m a dumbass at 5 am. And most other times of day as well, but especially 5 am.
Looks like Dana Carvey is finally Turtle Enough for the Turle Club.
One of the greatest pictures ever for your header, but it’s a double-edged sword from the Archie series since we never will get to see how that story ends thanks to a clause in Nickelodeon’s buyout of the Turtles. Mutanimals forever!
Actually, I’m going to unleash my inner SuperGeek and say that this mask looks very similar to the old Raphael shown in a comic in the back of the TMNT RPG supplement ‘Road Hogs’. At least, from the small amount of face you can see underneath the hood. Ill have to see if I can find my copy somewhere.
@RoboPanda: Rouge is a rosey-colored make-up applied to one’s cheeks, usually on top of some kind of base make-up, add color and highlights to the face. Rouge is a French word meaning “red”. I think you mean “rogue.”
SnapperTrx is mostly right: It’s been a while, but I’m pretty sure the new masks are based on the turtle group from “After the Bomb/Road Hogs” which is what Eastman and Laird introduced with Palladium Roleplaying Books. In “After the Bomb/Road Hogs” there is a short comic where a new group of turtles do battle with an evil gang of mutants and this group refers to an older hooded turtle as ‘Master’. That hooded turtle uses Sai’s and occasionally refers to any of his students as ‘Mikey’.
Reeeeeallly wish they were doing something more like this–>> dawnoftheninja.com freakin sweet work…these guys are major turtles nerds who know their sh*t…*sigh*
mask is cool though
