When news broke that Robert Downey Jr. was dropping out of the Jon Favreau’s adaptation of Cowboys & Aliens to do Sherlock Holmes 2, it seemed like a big blow to the project. Although, it’s hard to think it would be any kind of bad considering Favreau is directing it, it’s got a script from Damon Lindelof (Lost), Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci (Star Trek), Steven Spielberg is a producer and, oh, they replaced Downey with Daniel Craig. So, it’s still pretty amazing.
Well, the film just started getting ridiculously amazing, as Favreau twittered this on Wednesday:
Please stop asking if Harrison Ford is in Cowboys & Aliens. Okay? He is. Please don’t tell anybody.
So, we’ve got all that…and Indiana Jones as a cowboy (presumably) fighting aliens. Can I already start lining up for this?

We cannot repel charisma of that magnitude!
Cowboys, Ninjas, Vikings, Antarctic researchers… Every time an alien race crashes on our planet, innocently hell-bent on destruction, we go and throw an action hero type at them. It’s about time we started playing fair and threw some annoying sidekicks at them. Aliens Versus Rob Schneider characters.
If Gene Wilder isn’t in this one, defending the Talmud “Book of Eli”-style, it had better have one hell of a trailer.
