When news broke that Robert Downey Jr. was dropping out of the Jon Favreau’s adaptation of Cowboys & Aliens to do Sherlock Holmes 2, it seemed like a big blow to the project. Although, it’s hard to think it would be any kind of bad considering Favreau is directing it, it’s got a script from Damon Lindelof (Lost), Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci (Star Trek), Steven Spielberg is a producer and, oh, they replaced Downey with Daniel Craig. So, it’s still pretty amazing.
Well,the film just started getting ridiculously amazing, as Favreau twittered this on Wednesday:
Please stop asking if Harrison Ford is in Cowboys & Aliens. Okay? He is. Please don’t tell anybody.
So, we’ve got all that…and Indiana Jones as a cowboy (presumably) fighting aliens. Can I already start lining up for this?

We cannot repel charisma of that magnitude!
Cowboys, Ninjas, Vikings, Antarctic researchers… Every time an alien race crashes on our planet, innocently hell-bent on destruction, we go and throw an action hero type at them. If Gene Wilder isn’t in this one, defending the Talmud “Book of Eli”-style, it had better have one hell of a trailer.
