"AvP" Fan Film Kinda Amateurish, Still Better Than "Requiem"

OK, so “AvP: Requiem” was so bad, it made us long for the days of “Alien Resurrection”, but as long as we’ve got decent fan films like this, the franchise will probably live on, even with Adrien Brody, action hero in the next Predator movie.

While this movie undeniably has cheap CG and actors with more enthusiasm than talent, which is par for the course in any fan film, it’s worth remembering that Alex Popov, the driving force behind this twenty minute fight scene, did it with about $500. And we’ve seen SyFy “original” “movies” that looked a whole lot worse and were a whole lot more badly written with what had to be twice that budget. Hey, Fox, maybe get this guy to direct the next “AvP” movie. He can probably do better with a thousand bucks.
