Universal is in talks to buy film and TV rights to Stephen King’s The Dark Tower.
No word yet on if they’ll be incorporating the eighth Dark Tower book King is currently writing.
The series rights were originally bought by J.J. Abrams’ imprint Bad Robot, reportedly purchased for only $19 up front. Hey, we’ve got $19 in change between us. Can we buy school-shooting novel Rage so the news media has something new to give free publicity to while feigning outrage?

Of course they’d ruin this now. Why not?
It was ruined as soon as King wrote himself as a character. Search your feelings, you know it to be true.
God. damn. it.
If this sees the light of day, I will fucking nepalm Hollywood then drive drunk all over Maine until I finsh the job the first guy failed miserably at.
Ruined? To say nothing of the ending, which was based on the outcome of a battle that King couldn’t manage to squeeze into seven giant-ass volumes…
Stephen Moyer as Roland or GTFO.
Books Two and Four were the best, and they had very little to do with the Tower itself.
I don’t know what you other people are talking about. The Dark Tower series is still one of the best series ever to exist.
