More often than not, if you ever see two dudes d-cking around in their backyard with wood, coat hangers, styrofoam and tubing, they’re probably burying a body -unless of course those same two dudes are Australian. If that’s the case, than surely it’s just a friendly father and son team building a backyard Stargate.
Discovered in the Stargate Information Archive forum, not much is known about the father and son team, other than that the son goes by the online avatar Jake Sully mango and that the date of his original post dates back to 2005. Oh yeah, there’s also one other fine detail we know: mango is broke as hell.
I’ve had a few pms from people asking about the stargate that my dad and I have been building out in our backyard, asking for an update to how its going. The truth is, we havent touched it in months.
I said i would have an update by the start of the new season so i guess this will have to do. I still need to repaint it and fix the chevrons but times are a bit tough at the moment and i simply cant afford the $40 tin of paint to paint the bloody thing. ANYWAY….
It all started on paper. Actually it started on AUTOCAD for drawing the blueprints. Since the US-Navy were unable to send us the blueprints we had to kinda draw them from scratch using pictures and video footage, trying to get as many of the little details as exact as possible. [Makezine]

Thanks to scifiwire for the tip.

Such is the mango.
I think the more pertinent question is, why the fuck would the US Navy have the schematics for a Stargate?
What have you done to me Mango?
Not very big is it?
