Indeed.
Benedict Cumberbatch (AKA “Scarfy McBritishChap“) spoke to an interviewer for DigitalSpy (video below) to promote the new BBC series Sherlock, where Cumberbatch plays the titular detective in a modern day setting, complete with a Blackberry, nicotine patches, and his own blog. The interviewer asked him if he’d like to be in an episode of Doctor Who, to which he replied that it wouldn’t be an episode. Why you cheeky little monkey.
He didn’t clarify whether this means he’d like to be the next Doctor or if this lends credence to the rumor that Steven Moffat is writing him into Doctor Who as The Master. He did say he’s “keeping his powder dry” (oh you Brits) and it would seem strange for BBC’s new Sherlock Holmes to take merely a supporting role in one episode of another BBC show. Well, look who’s all fancy with his starring role in a show and his extra Britishy name, acting like the dog’s bollocks. Well, I know two dapper fellows in the banner picture who’ve got the dog’s bollocks licked, so there.
