“Hellboy” was a fun romp and a great action movie, even if it got more formulaic as it went along. “Hellboy 2″ was fun, too, although the fact that it was really just Mike Mignola’s characters in Guillermo Del Toro’s fantasy world became a bit distracting around the time you realized it was like Del Toro was just going down a checklist (let’s see here: clockwork? Check. Storybook world? Check. Environmental message? Check.) “Hellboy 3″, however, will also probably be fun…if it ever gets made.
The problem turns out to be not the sequel barely making its budget back in theaters, but actually Ron Perlman. It turns out that, for some reason, the dude doesn’t want to spend six hours a day in a makeup chair to reprise the role, especially now that he’s got “Sons of Anarchy” willing to feature his ugly mug, and Del Toro won’t recast the part.
It’s nice to see a movie stalled because of high standards, loyalty, and other reasons that actually make sense. We’re way too used to awesome movies being stalled because some lawyer didn’t get his ham sandwich made precisely right by his mom, and now everybody’s gonna pay. Still, kinda sucks for anybody looking for “Hellboy 3″, but at least they have “The Hob-”. Oh, right.

I thought HellBoy 2 was better than HellBoy 1, then again I’ve never read the hellboy comics
I would much rather Ron stay on SOA rather than churn out another overblown sequel. The second film was all style over substance. Why hide a performance under latex and cgi when Pearlman is doing the best work of his career in a show that succeeded against all odds.
I would hate a great show to suffer because of Hellboy 3.
Why do you think it’s a choice between Sons of Anarchy or Hellboy 3 (as far as Pearlman’s availability)? People who are staring on TV shows make movies all the time. It’s not like he’s working on the show 52 weeks out of the year. There is no reason he couldn’t do both, except that he might not want to do Hellboy 3. If I had to guess I’d say that the makeup is probably the main thing. If Hellboy wasn’t such an insane makeup heavy movie I can’t imagine he’d turn down the chance to make another one. And I actually do admire Del Toro for not recasting the role. I’d rather not see Hellboy 3 than see it with a different person playing Hellboy.
Oh, and Hellboy 2 was excellent.
Ron Pearlman needs to make hellboy3! 6 hours of makeup shouldn’t hold him back from making this. I stand in 1 spot all day running a machine making no where near the amount of money he makes. The way i see it is i’m doing the world a favor by doing what i do. The hellboy movies are great and he needs to look at it a different way then having to sit through makeup sessions. He is making alot of people happy and bringing enjoyment to thousands of people. i would hate to not see this franchise tank cause he has to sit through makeup when there are millions of people out there that have to go through the same or worse.
They have to make the 3rd! You can’t just let the movie drop when there is still so much to tell. like what about Hellboy and Liz? Whats going to happen with them? and what about the terrible thing Hellboy is going to become?! Like the prophecy stated in the 2nd when they took that blade out of Hellboy. Making a 3rd is a MUST to avoid unhappy fans just because there are so many questions left unanswered.
Okay, make-up? whats so bad bout that? theres like 40 million people (mostly girls), probally more than that, Who sit through that shit to look good! And they are making u look like a demon, now if that was me id love to look like that! Just to scare the crape outa people, but still, I NEED HELLBOY 3!!! Idk why but i love the movie and im a girl whos saying this, not a guy, or nerd! Im a 14 year old girl! I love monsters and hellboy!! PLZ JUST SOMEONE TALK HIM INTO MAKING ANOTHER!!!! I want to see what liz and reds kids look like! DEMON? HUMAN? who knows whats going on in that Del Toro guys head!!
LOVED ALL THE HELLBOYS! MAKE THE 3rd Please and thank you!
