Prepare your strong hands, dice rollers of the universe. No, not because a new Warhammer 40,000 tabletop expansion is coming out, but because you’ll need that powerful arm in order to crack open cool refreshment after cool refreshment once you plop down to enjoy the new animated teaser for director Martyn Pick’s Ultramarines feature, based on the popular Games Workshop universe. The animated feature is being released as a straight-to-DVD title, but don’t let that deter your fragile heart. They did the same thing to Montana Fishburne’s debut and look how awesome that turned out for everyone involved.
Codex Pictures is developing Ultramarines, with Martyn Pick directing from a screenplay by Space Marines author Dan Abnett. There hasn’t been an actual plot synopsis released for the movie, so we don’t know much about the story. But as a recap on the concept, Ultramarines is an animated feature based on the elite force of Space Marines from the Warhammer 40,000 tabletop miniatures universe. This faction is called the “Ultramarines”, identified by their blue colored armor and omega symbol (Ω). [source]
Awesome. Due out this fall, I’ll take my space marines any way that I can get them. After the jump we’ve got the first teaser trailer for the movie and it looks pretty killer so far. Kind of like a weekend getaway for puffy, blue Stormtroopers, but satisfying nonetheless.

Bionicles on Steroids?
MikeyTheBaker, stop, just stop, if you say one more word, i will kill myself, and when my tainted spirit finds its destination, i will topple the master of that dark place. from my black throne i will lash together a machine of bone and blood, and, fuled by my hatred for you, this fear engine will bore a world between this world and that one.
as it begins, you will hear the screaming of children– as though from a great distance. a smoking orb of nothing will grow above your bed and from it will emerge a thousand starving crows, as i slip through the widening maw in my new form you will catch only a glimpse of my radiance before you are incinerated then as tears of bubbling pitch stream down my face my dark work will begin.
I will open one of my six mouths and sing the song that ends the earth.
