Alex was building the Queen from Alien (above right, in case you couldn’t tell), and he decided to build a power loader to go with it. After two weeks about about $230, he had the costume in the two videos below. It’s 9 feet tall, weighs 50 pounds, and is made from foam board, plaster, PVC pipes, spray paint, and magic. It breaks up into seven pieces that connect with PVC pipes to form a Voltron of awesome.
Would it be wrong to put on the tauntaun costume from last year and then get into this power loader? And then have a dwarf dressed like Atreyu from The NeverEnding Story ride on my back? I took it too far didn’t I?

Why? Because he can and it’s awesome!
That was awesome – Until I pressed Play on the first video and saw the dude shuffle around like an old man with a full diaper.
I totally approve of the project – Not so much the Loader Vs. Queen video.
How is the power loader not a real thing yet? This movie, Aliens, came out in what, 1986? WTF people, let’s get moving on making it a reality, please. Kthx
My favorite part of the second movie is when he talks about ‘other’ power loader costumes…
You’re kidding me, right?
Oh, you’re not.
Sorry.
HOW AM I JUST SEEING THIS NOW??? WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME???
The actual movie version of this was more exciting somehow. The Alien Queen in this vid was not as scary as in the film. Didn’t really move or do anything. But on the whole, this is an extradordinary piece of geekery. Thumbs up!
