UPDATE: Now with Taiwanese animation video showing exactly what happened. 100% accurate.
In case you missed it yesterday, Steve Jobs is totally a ninja according to a Japanese tabloid. They reported that Jobs tried to bring throwing stars (shurikens) onto his private plane at Kansai International Airport last month, but they were confiscated. According to the tabloid, he then fell back on the second thing thrown by a ninja, a tantrum:
Jobs said it wouldn’t make sense for a person to try to hijack his own plane, according to the report. He then told officials he would never visit Japan again, the magazine reported. [Bloomberg via BoingBoing]
Shockingly, it turns out Jobs wasn’t in Japan for ninja training, and this didn’t happen. A spokesman for Apple stated, “Steve did visit Japan this summer for a vacation in Kyoto, but the incidents described at the airport are pure fiction. Steve had a great time and hopes to visit Japan again soon.” A spokesman for the airport said a private plane passenger was asked to throw away shuriken in late July of this year, but he didn’t name that passenger. My source [my imagination, because I roll like a Japanese tabloid] tells me this passenger was a small Coloradoan boy in an orange hooded sweatshirt. Unfortunately the plane was gunned down when the flight crew accidentally entered a no-fly zone. You bastards.
