Boy, there’s a headline we’re going to have to get used to writing.
So, back when I first heard about Christian Kandlbauer, the guy who electrocuted his arms off and got them replaced with thought-controlled robot arms, I made lots of jokes about bad German drivers (seriously, Germans are scary by my standards, and I live in Massachusetts); what do you call a guy with no arms in a car (“Rollo”), etc. Which now I am now officially a douche for doing because Kandlbauer was in a massive car wreck, which ended with him being brain dead and his family disconnecting life support.
They’re not sure what happened; it could be the arm malfunctioned, or maybe it was user error. They’re researching what happened.
Our sympathies go out to the Kandlbauer family in this difficult time.
