Vulture reports 20th Century Fox has offered the directing role for the next Wolverine movie to Darren Aronofsky (Requiem for a Dream, The Wrestler, Lesbian Ballerinas The Swan). If he takes the job, he’ll be directing a script by Christopher McQuarrie (The Usual Suspects, Valkyrie) which puts Wolverine in “a love story featuring a Japanese actress“, possibly an adaptation of the Mariko Yashida storyline.
After everything he’s directed, I’d totally watch an Aronofsky take on the next Wolverine movie, which should be promptly titled Wolverine 1: This Is The First One, There Weren’t Any Others Seriously (And Hugh Jackman Is Shirtless For 90 Minutes).

Yeah…Barakapool kinda jumped the shark on that movie franchise. It was like the Superman III (IV?) of XMen movies.
Isn’t it specifically supposed to be based on the Claremont/Miller Wolverine story? In which case, Fuck Yes.
