Sony have already stated that Mary Jane isn’t Spider-Man’s (played by The Social Network‘s Andrew Garfield) love interest in this movie. Deadline confirms that Gwen Stacy will be the love interest. Sony are reportedly now considering Dianna Agron (Glee), Georgina Haig (Wasted on the Young), Dominique McElligott (Moon), and Mia Wasikowska (Alice in Wonderland) for that role.
Mary Jane is said to be playing a pivotal role in later installments of this reboot (of course they’re already talking sequels). As long as she rides a bike in a tennis outfit and doesn’t sing, we can accept that.

Although I don’t really like the idea of this reboot, I love Emma Stone. She’ll provide enough reason for me to watch the movie.
