Ripped From The Headlines!

The gritty world of video game addiction was tackled by a recent episode of Law & Order: SVU (co-produced by Speed Weed, so you know it’s good). The SVU stands for Sexy Victims at Hudson University. They didn’t notice they left the H out until they had already printed all the promo materials, so they had to bluff and say it meant “Special Victims Unit”.

Anyway, in this astoundingly realistic and informative episode, Benson and Stabler bust in on a couple gaming addicts playing a generic MMORPG that looks like it was coded for an ITT Tech commercial from 2002.  The couple — who are comically sweaty, overbearing, and fat (ha ha, gamers are fat jerks who don’t bathe, FACE!) — are being investigated for abusing and neglecting their daughter, because WoW Completely Fictional MMORPG will make you do that.  It’s like crack, except with orcs.

Also, as Videogum points out, we’re supposed to believe this apartment in New York City is a dump when it has stairs.  Yes, a multistory apartment in New York City is supposed to be a slum rented by unemployed, unwashed gamers. Perhaps the most unconvincing part of this whole stupid thing:
