World's First Robotic Jetpack

Written by RoboPanda / 10.20.10

Awhile back The Martin Aircraft Company released their remote-controlled robotic jetpack can lift loads of almost 220 lbs (100 kg) up to 10,000 feet with a range of over 30 miles, traveling at a max speed of 63 mph.  It runs on regular gasoline and can take off from the cab of a pickup truck and land vertically in the same small space as well.  Martin is going to start field trials next year. They hope to sell it to the military as a UAV to carry supplies, run surveillance, and search for IEDs.

So they’ve just invented a commercial jetpack, and already they make it fly without us? Oh, fine. I didn’t want to fly you anyway, mister highfalutin thinks-he’s-too-cool-for-humans jetpack. I’ve got my invisible jetpack anyway, so there.
