A rumor’s been going around that Heath Ledger will reappear as the Joker in The Dark Knight Rises, thanks to some unused footage and CGI. We didn’t report the rumor because it seemed wrong, and an insider who spoke to MovieHole confirms that it’s false. Their contact at Warner Brothers says Chris Nolan would consider a CGI version of Ledger to be disrespectful and bad for the film. Also, the rumors that Joker would be in the third movie are based on a tentative outline of the films from five years ago, where Batman would have visited the Joker in prison to gain information on Two Face. That plotline was scrapped during the writing of The Dark Knight.
In other bat news, Nolan confirms what was previously stated by Christian Bale: that The Dark Knight Rises will be the last Batman movie for Nolan and Bale. Nolan told EW this next batfilm would be the “last chapter”, and he also mentioned the Inception video game is still in the works, which doesn’t have anything to do with Batman but I thought you might like some video game news in your movie news when the video game is based on a movie but not the movie we’re talking about here but from the same direct–BRAAAAAAAHM.

Otherwise great news.
I’d like to say I was making a joke in extraordinarily bad taste, but really I just misspelled his name. OR DID I?
(Yeah, I did.)
