Bunraku was screened at the the Toronto International Film Festival last September but hasn’t secured an official release date yet. Below is a sales trailer not for public viewing, so it’ll probably be pulled off YouTube, but in the meantime you can watch this footage of a two hour long, $25 million movie that somehow looks like it was filmed on a flip cam in a construction paper diorama. It’s written/directed by Guy Moshe and stars Josh Hartnett as The Drifter, Demi Moore as Alexandra, Woody Harrelson as The Bartender, Ron Perlman being totally badass as Nicola, Kevin McKidd as Killer #2, Gackt Camui (who is actually a guy, and insanely popular in Japan) as Yoshi, and Mike Patton from Faith No More as the narrator. What is it?
In a world with no guns, a mysterious drifter (Hartnett), a young samurai [Gackt], and a bartender (Harrelson) plot revenge against a ruthless leader (Perlman) and his army of thugs of nine diverse and deadly assassins. [GeekTyrant]
You lost me at “a world with no guns”. *fires blindly at the Ford on blocks in the backyard* Yahtzee!
Sales trailer and more “lol wut?” pictures are on the next pages.

Demi should play Cassandra and Hoops could challenge Nicola to a boat race.
As we all know, Buraku is Japanese for ‘terrible production values.’
Well its been awhile since Ive been so underwhelmed by a trailer. Also, I thought Bunraku was japanese for “straight to DVD?”
FFFFFFFFFFFFFu Gackt!
you’re the reason I couldn’t get my traditional Midnight Movie Pass for all the movies…so just suck it.
Insidious was nice though.
which this movie did, according to the regular Midnight Movie goers I spoke with.
“In a world with no guns…”
Except for the one Woody Harrelson has? Wouldn’t having a gun in a world with no guns make you king?
Woody’s “gun” is clearly a tiny gun-shaped lighter…
@Josh: Oh. Duh. I suppose I could have actually LOOKED at the picture instead of getting all snarky. First time that’s ever happened on the internet, right?
