Mark Millar is one of those comic book writers of just baffling popularity. Pretty much all he’s got is shock value, but that seems to have been enough to secure him a career. Just look at “Nemesis”, which is essentially “rich homicidal maniac kills lots of people and gets away with it, herpy derpy doo! I’m so shocking and cynical!”
On the bright side, he’s also managed to so far be treated pretty well by the movies. “Wanted”, despite a silly ending, was pretty good, and “Kick-Ass” was one of the best movies of 2010. So maybe Matthew Michael Carnahan, who specializes in political thrillers, can also take “Nemesis” and actually turn it into something worth watching. And, hey, at least it can’t be any more painful than “Civil War”.

And hopefully this guy will be able to come up with an ending that’s better than Millar’s, a twist ending so retarded and nonsensical that Manny Shyamalan wishes he had thought it up.
Maybe Mark Millar could adapt Bret Easton Ellis’ ‘American Psycho’ in to a graphic novel. I dunno. Whatever.
dude Millars writing on the ultimates is what got me back in to comics… but nemesis was one of the worst things he ever craped out. I think its time the guy stops believing his own hype.

Funnily enough, I actually hated the ever-loving shit out of “The Ultimates”, for reasons that would take thousands of words to express, but thought his “Ultimate X-Men” was note-perfect. When he stops trying to offend people and actually writes, you can understand why he’s popular. But it’s the shock value that makes money…
Civil War was a masterpiece! You take that back!
