25-year-old Annie Leung from California just broke the Guinness World Record for highest score for a female gamer on Guitar Hero III. (That’s a category?) She scored 789,349 in expert mode playing Dragonforce’s “Through the Fire and Flames”, earning her a place in the “Guinness World Records 2011 Gamer’s Edition”. She had a 541 note streak as you can see in the video below right before it melts your face off. At the end, she shows off the scores for several songs; she hit a total 3,556 out of 3,722 notes (95% accuracy).
Leung says, “Ultimately I want to be known as a great gamer, not just a great female gamer.” What a coincidence, I want to be known as a great lover, not just a great female lover. Wait, that didn’t come out right. Oh, just watch the video.

To put that in perspective, a quick Google turns up a 9 year old boy with a 750k score, and full size dudes who have played the song perfectly.

“Ultimately I want to be known as a great gamer, not just a great female gamer.” Yet she has #1 female guitar hero player written all over her site, she talks shit about every other female that’s even REMOTELY good at guitar hero in various blogs all over her site (can’t stand competition I guess.) and she applied for highest score on a single song FOR A FEMALE, a category which never existed until she did this. She obviously is full of it. If she wanted attention for being a “great gamer” she should have broken one of the 30 already impressive guitar hero related world records set by men, not ask them to make a “female” category. Pathetic. By the way, her score was 200k away from even TOUCHING the world record currently set by a guy. At least there’s other girls out there playing guitar hero that don’t have a problem beating the guys scores, just read her blog for every girl she talks crap about in the guitar hero scene, all those girls have done better than her in co-ed tournaments.
The guitar hero scene? That must be the most downtrodden group of individuals ever. I have a scene myself. We go to a club and we put on a show playing actual instruments. Its a crazy concept.
