“Iron Man 2″ was fun, but not quite as good as the original “Iron Man”, possibly because the first one was almost entirely improvised IN A CAVE! WITH A BOX OF SCRAPS! (Sorry, had to do it.) The studio was displeased, as they didn’t want to see more guys in iron suits fighting each other, probably the first time in film history that a studio has demanded a sequel not be absolutely the same thing.
So what is Shane Black, who is writing and directing (huzzah!), going to do? Have Iron Man fight “real-world villains”, which we’re just going to assume are terrorists because, let’s face it, there just aren’t that many villains with guns in the world any more, and Somali pirates would be hopelessly outmatched.
Also, the guy who wrote “Lethal Weapon” is writing an “Iron Man” movie. Just want to emphasize that.
