WOW!!!!! I’ve lived about 10 miles from the home of this Whistling Convention and both my daughter and I have participated in it over the years. I just screamed with delight when I found this linked up to be connected in any way with “The Bloggess”—–Jenny rules!
The International Whistling Convention is held at my Alma Mater–Louisburg College. It is the oldest private two-year coed college in the country and still very near and dear to my heart. Y’all come! And on a totally unrelated note, I was struck by a memory of a word I invented while there in college that has remained in the vocabulary of my family and friends ever since: “Redneckedness.” And its almost homonym as well: “Rednakedness.” Yeah.
