Books and comics aimed young adult readers are booming at a time when comic sales are plummeting. Seriously, The Death of Spider-Man sold 160,000 issues, there are two major events going on with Fear Itself and Flashpoint and comic sales were still down by 5% last month, meanwhile YA book sales continue to rise.
Now if I was a book publisher (I'm not) and I had money to throw around (I definitely don't) I'd set my sight on Mexican artist Salvador Ramirez Madriz whose artwork is quite frankly adorable. His images of popular cartoon characters has an almost sick amount of "aww" in it, perfect for that burgeoning book market. Check out some of our favorites of Madriz's work here or view his entire portfolio at Deviant Art.
