Minecraft Mod Grabs Your Pokeballs?

Minecraft is, as we’ve seen, pretty much infinitely moddable: there is nothing that exists the modding community won’t try to put in. And now we can add “Pokemon” to that list.

While I’ve never felt the need to catch any of the annoying little fuzzballs, I have to admit that this mod is actually pretty impressive. It’s pretty early days, but according to experts, it’s pretty much a full port of Pokemon Red, although the dev team is still adding little details…like a combat system.

Still, it’s a pretty interesting mod, and it just illustrates that Minecraft is a far more awesome Lego set than Legos could even dream. Now to see if Notch actually gets his Quake match so he can name his next game “Scrolls”…
