Nike Auctioning Off Back To The Future Air Mag Sneakers For Charity

Great Scott!

Yesterday we found out there was going to be some serious sh-t going down about the Nike Air MAG sneakers at 8:30 p.m. PST last night, and now we have the details. Nike will be auctioning 1,500 pairs of MAG high-tops on Ebay at a rate of 150 pairs per day (the first batch went up yesterday and are selling for thousands of dollars each).

The bad news is they aren’t power laces, but rather replica shoes with LED lights that glow 5 hours per charge. The great news is all net proceeds go to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research and will even be doubled by a $50 million matching grant. Michael J. Fox went on The Late Show with David Letterman last night (video here) to show them off, and we also have several pictures and two videos below, the first starring Bill Hader, Christopher Lloyd, Donald Fullilove (the guy who played Mayor Goldie Wilson), Kevin Durant, and lead designer Tinker Hatfield and the second one inspiring comments like this:

Oh, YouTube, you scamp.
