“The Wolverine” once sounded good. Darren Aronofsky was directing, Christopher McQuarrie had handed in a script that was reportedly pretty good, and all was well. Then Aronofsky quit, and now the script is being rewritten by some guy who didn’t write “The Usual Suspects”, but did write that “Total Recall” remake.
The good news is that the guy [Mark Bomback] is at least vetted by Bryan Singer, who seems to have control of all things X-Men over at Fox: he wrote Singer’s upcoming “Jack the Giant Killer.” On the other hand, he was also one of about two thousand people who wrote “Live Free or Die Hard”, so take from that what you will.
