For those of you unfamiliar with the Spanish horror flicks [REC] and [REC]2, I highly suggest you rush out and rent these two fine (and foreign) zombie movies. In the United States, we remade these films under the title Quarantine -which sucks because, well, those remakes sucked pretty bad and in no way do the original Spanish versions any justice.
Well the good news today is that there’s a [REC] 3 Génesis coming out soon and we’ve got the trailer after the jump. The bad news is that the entire trailer is in Spanish, without any subtitles, although I would argue that people eating other people at a wedding probably sounds pretty similar in an y language. For anyone who feels like translating the trailer, please do so -because I’m someone who opted out of taking Spanish classes in high school and instead thought that learning German would be beneficial. So glad I live in Southern California now…tons of Germans who I get to communicate with.

There’s nothing importante on the dialog trust me, alot of shitty one-liners but in spanish.
Cool thing is that every zombie in this movie is a relative to the couple marrying.
One of my favorite new horror franchises (along with the Feast trilogy). Despite the found footage gimmick, it manages to be consistently impressive and terrifying all at once, and always manages to top itself. I’m in love with this franchise, and I hope others love it as much as I do. Really looking forward to this movie.
Rec 2 strayed from what made Rec 1 so great, infected zombies and a near complete lack of religious undertones. Rec 2 turned into an exorcist movie w/ priests and possessions and annoying kids.
Quarantine 2 on the other hand, while low budget & direct to dvd, kept the zombie horror theme front and center and didn’t once mention possessions. With the setting switch from apt building to airplane/airport, i thought Quarantine 2 was actually a better continuation than Rec 2.
That being said, i’m sure i’ll check out Rec 3.
Oh yes. I was enamored with the first two. The first Rec still scares me to this day, and if you’re going to watch it in the american version, don’t. Just watch Rec with subtitulos, you’ll be happy you do…in a sense
I’ll be eagerly awaiting this one.
