"Powers" Not Strong Enough For FX?

So much for that dream: FX has passed on the “Powers” pilot.

Honestly, we’re a little surprised this happened: FX has spent quite a while carving out a niche as the Gritty Crime Show Network (see for example “Justified”, “Sons of Anarchy” and “The Shield”) while building a sideline in genre shows (see for example “Archer” and “American Horror Story”). And the pilot isn’t entirely dead yet: FX asked the producers for a “substantial” rewrite and reshoot, which they’re currently considering the merits and drawbacks of doing.

In other words, it could still happen. And if not, hey, we’re sure the pilot will be leaked onto the Internet.
