The Long Musical Career of Stephen Hawking

Pop culture only has room for a few scientists, and ever since Carl Sagan went to the stars, the most prominent scientist in popular culture is Stephen Hawking.

Especially in music, for some reason. Hawking has, in both parody and actuality, a long musical career. As a singer, of course. Here are a few of our favorites.

He shows up on the show all the time, of course, but this is, to date, his only musical appearance.

To date.

By all accounts, that is actually Hawking reciting the lyrics to this song. He didn't write them...but they're actually kind of depressing considering his medical history.

This, on the other hand, isn't. Especially since the voice synthesizer is completely wrong.

In which Carl Sagan beatboxes. Really.

Once again, the rapper and physicist dominates.

Finally, there's this, one of the earlier purveyors of nerdcore. And, by all accounts, something Hawking himself found hilarious.
