Apparently twice was enough for Marvel. Even though the Hulk is getting a lot of praise in the “Avengers” movie, and Mark Ruffalo has said he’d be happy to reprise Bruce Banner, Kevin Feige, the guy in charge of the Marvel movies, has pretty much ruled it out.
That’s not really a surprise, economically speaking. Ang Lee’s 2003 “Hulk”, although becoming a popular cult film, didn’t set the box office on fire. And Louis Leterrier’s followup, despite being more popular with audiences, made almost exactly the same amount of money worldwide.
So as much as Hollywood seems to have tried and as much as some of us deeply love the Ang Lee version…actually, we can’t really say we’re too torn up about this one.
Maybe if it was all CGI, instead of just some serious actor occasionally turning green.

“popular cult film”?
“some of us deeply love the Ang Lee version…”?
what in the blue hell are you talking about? i thought that shitstorm was pretty much universally reviled.
It wasn’t. It’s actually got a good reputation among film nerds, and with reason: it may not necessarily be the ideal Hulk movie for some people, but it’s a damn good movie in many respects.
One complaint: The titular character doesn’t show up until an hour and a half into the movie.
Forty minutes, actually, and frankly, so what? That complaint has always bugged me, especially since it’s not like the movie skimps on the Hulk action overall. It’s not a porno.
You’re right. I enjoy the film now!
