“Shaun of the Dead” and “Hot Fuzz” are two very, very funny movies that combine genres that shouldn’t work together (romantic slacker comedy and zombie movie, and psychological thriller and idiot buddy cop movie, respectively) and turn them into sheer genius. But Edgar Wright, Simon Pegg, and Nick Frost have all been in pretty heavy demand on their own, and we despaired of ever seeing them together again.
Well, apparently they heard our cries of sadness, because they’re getting back together for “The World’s End”.
Apparently it’s about five childhood friends getting together to go on a bar crawl, ending with a visit to the pub “The World’s End”.
Although, if rumors are to be believed…the title isn’t just figurative. The world really is at stake. AICN hints that there’s something to do with the Cold War in the movie, but we’ll know for sure spring 2013.
Of course, this means “Ant-Man” is delayed. Again. But, hey, at least it’s for a good cause.

Simon Pegg posted earlier on his twitter “It’s easy to pretentiously refer to 3 films as a trilogy but World’s End will be the ribbon that ties Shaun and Fuzz together. Cannot wait.”
Hopefully he means that literally and its a romantic slacker comedy zombie murder mystery idiot buddy cop movie.
I don’t know, I’ve actually seen “Telefon” and a funny remake of it would be awesome.
Also, the Worlds End pub in Camden, London is a pretty hilarious place at best, basically the main heavy rock/goth pub in North London with a metal venue beneath it, as long as tey keep the colourful regulars in the film then this movie sounds amazing already
I thought you meant the Worlds End in Camden, New Jersey, because that place looks like world ended in a horrible apocalypse.

Dan, have you abandoned the worst trek thread already? What was final tally?
Sorry, I got behind, I’ll update it with the offical tally once I clear away some deadlines and get a few posts locked into place.
The reason for the delay is that the studio is trying to go over Edgar’s head and stunt-cast Chris Brown as Hank Pym.
…The sad thing is is that it wouldn’t surprise me.
