Last night, Gallery 1988's newest location on Melrose in Los Angeles held the opening for its art tribute to Marvel's The Avengers. Joss Whedon and Clark Gregg even attended the opening reception (pictured above). The show runs till Sunday and includes art from Dave Perillo, Rhys Cooper, Scott Campbell, Fernando Reza, Luke Chueh, Ken Garduno, Kiersten Essenpreis, NC Winters, DKNG Studios, Joey Spiotto, Noelle Stevenson, Nathan Stapley, and others.

More pictures should be online next week when prints and paintings from the show go on sale, and we might post about those later (UPDATE: part two here). Here are almost thirty works from the show to get us by until then.
