This Is Glorious: Our Favorite Voice Actors Do A Comical Table Read Of Star Wars

This seemed like a better idea when I started photoshopping it.

At Emerald City ComiCon on March 31st of this year, seven of the best voice actors in the business — Kevin Conroy, John DiMaggio, Billy West, Jess Harnell, Tara Strong, Maurice LaMarche, and Rob Paulsen — did a table read of Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. What makes it glorious is that they read the parts as a variety of their famous characters and celebrity impersonations, all while Kevin Conroy narrated the stage directions as Batman.

Here’s just a small selection of some of the characters voiced that day:

If you can’t watch all 80 minutes — FIND THE TIME, YOU DEGENERATE — we’ll recommend the part at the 21 minute mark where Bender (John DiMaggio) swears up a storm and insults Star Wars. Also noteworthy was Zoidberg (Billy West) and Aquaman (John DiMaggio) bantering 31 minutes in. At 52 minutes in, Billy West voices Porky Pig as Obi-Wan and John DiMaggio voices a Bender Stormtrooper in the “droids you’re looking for” scene. The Mos Eisley scene at The Chalmun’s Cantina starts at 58:40.

I want to build some sort of Tauntaun carcass out of this video and live inside it forever.
