So, some guy went and made a 2D stop motion recreation of the first stage of Super Mario Bros. If I had unlimited free-time on my hands I’d like to think I’d devote it to bettering myself or helping humanity in some way, but no, let’s be real, I’d probably spend most of my time doing stuff like this. Thankfully the Internet exists, so I can be employed and other people will make my elaborate Mario tributes for me! Hooray!
Check out stop motion paper Mario after the jump…
I like how, even with the power of animation on his side, the guy who made this still misses the flagpole jump at the end.

Awesome-sauce. I like how he made it more realistic by fucking up the flag jump at the end. Just like I always did!
CLEARLY this guy never actually played the game because at the 16 second mark he has Mario hit the power-up box TWICE to kill two separate Goombas – everyone knows that power-up boxes can be hit only once!
What – are we supposed to believe this is some alternate version of the game? Does this Mario “fan” think he can just make up the physics of the game because he feels like it? Worst. Artistic rendering of a classic video game using only paper and stop motion animation. Ever. (wipes crumbs off t-shirt, calls to mom upstairs to bring down more blueberry pop tarts and dr pepper)
He also breaks a block as regular Mario at the beginning, but I didn’t point it out because, I dunno, that seemed a little douchey.
And the block with the Starman in it at :22 is clearly a different color- what is this, Scooby Doo? OH, I WONDER WHICH BOOK OPENS THE SECRET WALL?
I was gonna make another fake comment about the question blocks bouncing around instead of staying still, but the more I watched them, the more it looked like they were dancing and bobbing to the music, which amused me.
This place is getting more like IGN by the minute
