There’s been a lot of complaining about Diablo III since it came out, and in this rare case Internet whining is actually justified, because Blizzard is trying to get away with some straight-up bulls–t with this game. Encouraging loot farming with the Auction House? Ugh. Forcing everyone to be online even if they’re just playing single player, which of course causes the servers to crash, locking everyone out of the game? F–k off.
Well, here’s the latest development in this ongoing clown show — from this point on new Diablo III buyers will have to wait 72-hours to actually play the full version of the game. Until the waiting period is up you’ll be restricted to a trial version of the game. Why are they doing this? Come on, are you really expecting Blizzard to give a real answer? All they’ve said is it’s to “combat fraud”, whatever that means.
This restriction is only placed digital copies of the game, so if you’d like to actually play the full game you just paid 60-bucks for, you’d better hit up the dusty PC game rack hidden away in the back of your local GameStop.

Blizzard has been doing this with games since easily 2005. If you buy a WoW Digital copy, you cant lvl past 20, trade, or invite players for 72 hours. Its nothing new, and the reasoning behind it is justifiable. Hackers take your account, a stolen credit card and load off all your stuff, sell it for real money and walk away.
Hmmm, maybe they ought to do something about these hackers instead of keeping people from playing that games they’ve purchased.
How long does it take to hit level 20 in WoW? Because it only takes an hour and half to beat the Starter Edition in D3.
Diablo III has been a let down since it came out. From the story being painfully stupid, to the permanent connection causing you to get errors and lag on single fucking player, to forcing you to spend MORE money, than the 60 bucks you already spend, on the auction house because as of hell difficulty the game goes from stupidly easy to supidly hard to THIS.
And the game is not even worth playing that much, the first two acts are great, then Act III is shorter and Act IV is basicly DLC length. I could go on…
If you followed some of the gold farmer interviews what they do is use various already compromised PayPal or credit cards and purchase digital copies of the game to use for their bottling and farming. Assholes prevent nice things from happening.
So let me get this straight….Blizzard tries to take steps to prevent assholes and criminals from ruining the game with their asshole-ish criminal behavior….and everybody screams at them for it? God I hate the internet.
So let me get this straight. Blizzard takes overblown drm to the next level and treats their paying customers like criminals and everyone screams at them for it? God I hate the internet.
Daisyqueefer, you’re a moron.
