It's time once again for our Friday comic book cosplay feature, casting the spotlight on the best comics related costumery from the cosplay community. We're focusing on those cosplayers who we think deserve special recognition for coming up with the best costumes, whatever the budget, and the photographers who capture them for posterity.
This week we're featuring some awesome cosplay of Batgirl and Robin, Triggergirl 6, Mr. Terrific, Beast, Poison Ivy, Red Skull, Huntress, Uatu the Watcher, Two-Face, Blue Beetle and Booster Gold!
Gamma Squad is committed to giving a voice to the cosplay community that thrives in groups like our friends at TheSuperheroCostumingForum.com. Each week we spotlight our favorite costumes and in addition we also host a regular cosplay contest, with the results forming a special theme week. We invite cosplayers, costumers and photographers to submit pictures of their work that relates to the theme (or any cosplay in general!) to our Flickr group to be considered. We’ll then pick our top choices and post them on Gamma Squad for the adoration of all.
Our current theme is:
- Superhero Team-Ups!
For now, enjoy this week's selection!

You may remember the Booster and Beetle girls from the Dallas Comic-Con gallery [www.uproxx.com]
Yup, I remembered. The beetle’s awful cute. And now I typed that and made it official that I’m a dirty old man. Thanks brandon!
I didn’t realize that girl was cos-playing as Blue Beetle. We interviewed her for Yahoo! Movies probably the day after this.
If you’re going to go through all that trouble to do a Two-face makeup, you should at least do the research to make sure you have the scaring on the correct side.
Hi there. Before jumping to the critical conclusion, why don’t you take a moment to give the artist the benefit of the doubt?
Did you notice that the jacket is also burned on the opposite side? Mia Ballistic, who made the costume and did the makeup, and I have gotten this comment frequently (although not usually with as much condescension as you). She chose from the beginning to swap the side for two reasons: one, because women’s blazers button over from the opposite side and it was aesthetically better, and two, because this is a women playing a man’s character and it’s another reminder of the costume’s “alternate” nature.
Thank you so much, Angelophile, for featuring my (half) face and Mia’s work! This is an awesome group of cosplayers!
Uatu the Watcher? Really? Maybe I can finally do me some cosplayin’!
