As previously mentioned, Warner needs another blockbuster franchise now that the Batman and Harry Potter franchises have run their course. They have Superman reboot Man of Steel coming out next June 14th, and now we’re hearing rumors that they may be returning to the Batman cash cow already. Batman on Film (vouched for by /film) says the new Batman will be introduced in the Justice League film set to come out in 2015. They say the solo Batman film will be a spin-off from Justice League.
On the upside, this means the Justice League film is finally likely to happen and, better yet, we’re probably going to have a Batman film that isn’t yet another origin story. And it’s about time. How often do we need to see how Batman, Spider-Man, etc. got their start? We already get it. Now show us something else. Every minute we’re watching some kid’s parents get shot in slow motion set to cloying music is a minute Batman isn’t punching criminals in the face.
On the downside, this means if Justice League tanks, it’s going to cast a pall over several potential DC franchises in development like Batman, Wonder Woman, Superman, et cetera. We left Green Lantern off that list because 2011′s Green Lantern already tanked that on its own. We’re also leaving off Aquaman because no one cares about Aquaman.
The Justice League script is being handled by Will Beall (Gangster Squad). It’ll be interesting to see how he introduces these characters. We already know one guy who could play the rebooted Batman…

Actually, the Timm/Dini/Fassbender thing…I kind of like that idea.
Fassbender will be damned near 40 when the JLA movie is set to hit theaters. That’s too old to reboot the Batman franchise afterward.
I can’t really imagine Batman sounding like anyone but Conroy. To hear that voice on the big screen would be something.
have it start with a brief voiceover… “earth’s mightiest heroes joined forces to create… the Justice League”… intro credits show Superman flying, Batman batmanning, GL using his power ring to shoot things, Wonder Woman beating up some bad guys, Flash running fast/cracking wise… and the last character, I’m still torn on. I don’t think it should be Hawkgirl or Martian Manhunter, but I think Aquaman sucks.
or maybe have LOBO be the bad guy who joins the league when DARKSEID (played by Michael Ironside, naturally) comes to town…

Bradley Cooper or Dolph Ziggler as Aquaman?
Think I’d rather see another director take a stab at Nolan’s universe with JGL. I feel like a spinoff from the Justice League movie that DC has been trying to pull off and failing for decades wouldn’t be handled correctly.
To be expected. Nolan’s universe isn’t super-powered enough to handle Superman, et al.
How expensive would it be to make a Flash movie? You just have everyone stand still while he runs around. Now all you need is a decent actor/director/script.

I was pretending to work the other day and thought it would be cool to see a group of B-Listers (Blue Beetle, Booster Gold, Question–Renee Montoya version–and a retired Wally West) uncover the secret of the missing Justice League and Legion of Doom while fighting off a resurgence of B-List criminal activity (Royal Flush Gang, Harley Quinn, & the Rogues), then at the end everyone returns to kick off the next wave of movies.
No fucking origin stories with 90 minutes of someone running around in street clothes discovering their powers one at a time while trying date the hot but approachable redhead, just: “This is the DC Universe, enjoy.”
It would work. But there’s a better chance of there actually being a Superman in real life than WB’s assembly line cranking that out.
