We have a new Star Trek trailer for you! What’s that? Oh, no, it’s not for the J.J. Abrams movie — it’s for the upcoming video game. Sorry. But hey, you like video games, right? Yeah!
Last time we saw this game, it was looking solid enough, but not much like Star Trek. Based on this latest trailer, that hasn’t really changed. Too much shooting, not enough technobabble and tortured metaphors. Oh well, that’s what mind-numbingly complex mid-90s Star Trek adventure games are for (I’m looking at you Star Trek: A Final Unity).

I think the guys at 343 Studios should take a look at the gun Spock is holding. They may be able to adapt something like that into this new game they’re supposedly coming out with? Haystack? Dayglo? Fuck if I remember. It probably won’t be that big of a game anyway. Nevermind.
I honestly was a big fan of the reboot, so I’m stoked about this game too, I will stand by the statement that if you want to make Star Trek work nowadays you have to do an update of the franchise (as opposed to prequels. History stands behind me on this one.)
I will say one thing, that last screenshot reminds me of a piece of beautiful concept art. Not from anywhere specific but on its own it looks pretty badass.
