So, The Amazing Spider-Man was pretty solidly alright I thought. Its main asset was Emma Stone adorable-ing it up as Gwen Stacey. Its main flaw was relying on the rather uninspiring Lizard as villain. Well, seems like they’re sticking to the pattern for the sequel and giving us more adorable and more dorky villains!
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is going to re-introduce Mary Jane Watson, and word is Shailene Woodley, last seen as the distractingly hot daughter in the excellent The Descendants, will be stepping into the role. I think she’ll make a fine redhead.
As for villains, we may be getting Electro. Yes, the guy with the lightning bolt mask that looks like it’s been cut out of cardboard. Hopefully the shadowy guy at the end of the first movie turns out to be someone big, because a movie with Electro as the main villain could be rough.

I actually love Electro as a character. Hopefully they won’t go with as goofy a look. Who knows, maybe we’ll get the full electricity Ultimate Marvel version of Electro?
Is Electro’s power being the worst Christmas tree topper?
I’ll take a BJ, MJ. LOL.
Never before have I been so tempted to delete a non-spam comment.
Yeah, I’d assume Ultime Electro, where he’s all humanized and bullshit.
I’m not familiar with Ultimate Electro. He still has the cardboard mask, right? *Right?*
No cardboard mask? No think you
It’s hard to take certain things seriously. Like when a superhero dodges a laser or lightning bolts. Electro should fuck Spider-Man’s shit up six ways from Sunday in about 12 seconds, but he’ll be defeated when Spidey is able to kick the top off a nearby fire hydrant.
In the old school comic books MJ was built like a brickhouse. I would love to see someone like that in the role. A skinny little twig isn’t going to make me think MJ.
Assuming they make a third, they should connect 2 and 3. Like, Star Wars did or Pirates of the Caribbean. The first movie stands alone, then the following two are more of a connected entity where the 2nd one doesn’t really end and everything ultimately concludes with a 3rd installment. The whole green goblin storyline has been done, give us a solid Venom saga spanning the next two.
‘Amazing’ was so, so bad. I don’t see how it could possibly be described as ‘solid.’ Lizard people and an antidote that flies straight up in the air, goes POOF! and magically transforms them back to normal. There was no reason for the movie to exist, and it came off as an uninspired waste of time.
I don’t know. I thought the Lizard was sort of rushed and came off a little silly but I thought Peter himself was done so much better.
Hey Spider-Man fans, let’s put the age old question to an end. Which Spider-Man would you choose and why? [nerdsayswhat.wordpress.com]
