J.J. Abrams visited Conan O’Brien last night on TBS’s Conan to talk about the upcoming Star Trek sequel, Star Trek Into Darkness. He brought with him three frames — yes, just three — of the film to whet our appetites. Here’s one-third of the entirety of footage:

Hmm, this seems to be missing something…

Much better.
Anyway, what you’re seeing there is Zachary Quinto as Spock wearing a heat resistant suit while he’s inside a freaking volcano. Since you can’t really see much of the suit, we’ve tracked down some set photos from April which give us a better view of Zachary Quinto in the suit:

Yeah, knowing what the suit looks like still doesn’t make the three frames of footage any more exciting, but the long build up to it in the video, and Andy Richter’s reaction, did make me laugh.

JJ Abrahms presents Star Trek 2: Into Darkness – Guaranteed to have enough MacGuffins for three, maybe even four, complete Star Trek movies. And at least one season of a spin-off TV show built around an incomplete story arc.
